Discounts on Admin Orders

When you create an order manually in WooCommerce → Orders → Add New, Dino Discounts adds a control panel that lets you choose how discounts apply to that order.

Discount modes

A Dino Discount Mode dropdown appears in the order details panel with four options:

Mode	What happens
No Dino discounts	No automatic discounts are added. Native WooCommerce coupons still work.
Apply auto discounts	Runs the discount engine against the order’s line items and adds matching discounts automatically.
Apply coupon discounts	You manually add Dino coupon codes using WooCommerce’s built-in “Add coupon” action.
Apply auto + coupon (default)	Both — automatic discounts fire and you can also add coupon codes.

Applying automatic discounts

1. Create the order and add line items as usual
2. Save the order (recalculation runs on a saved order)
3. Set the mode to Apply auto discounts or Apply auto + coupon

Discounts are recalculated automatically whenever you change the mode dropdown or save line-item changes — there is no separate “Apply” button. The discount engine evaluates the order’s items against all active discount rules, just like it would on the storefront. Matching discounts appear as negative fee lines labelled “Dino: {discount name}”.

Each recalculation removes the previous Dino fee lines and recomputes them, so the order always reflects the current line items.

Works with HPOS

Admin order discounts work with both the classic post-based order storage and WooCommerce’s High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

When to use each mode

• No Dino discounts — for manual orders where you’re setting custom prices directly
• Auto discounts — when you want the same pricing rules as the storefront (e.g. a phone order for a customer who qualifies for a volume discount)
• Coupon discounts — when a customer calls in with a coupon code
• Auto + coupon — when both should apply (subject to your stacking settings)
